Brown Bag Luncheon
Each month, we offer a simple time of food and fellowship on a Wednesday afternoon. It is a great opportunity to meet new people in an informal setting. Just bring your sack lunch to Room 116 in the church on Wednesday January 15th at noon. We hope to see you there.
Book Club
Looking for a new way to start the year? The church book club meets each month to discuss fun, inspiring, and thought-provoking literature. The selection for January is “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Join us on Sunday, January 19th at 6:00 pm in the church library for this discussion. There is a copy of this book in the church library, or if you prefer to purchase it, just tell the good folks at Viewpoint that it is for the church book club and you will receive a discount on the book!
Green Team
Do you have a passion for environmental care? First UMC is considering starting a Green Team. A Green Team
consists of a few members working together to educate our congregation and community on environmental care. With the support of a regional organization, Faith in Place, Green Teams address environmental issues at the local level. If you would be interested in learning more about Green Teams please contact Rev. Boles.
First Cares
First UMC will hold a day of service on Monday January 20th. We begin with a breakfast in the Fellowship Hall followed by service projects for all ages and abilities. There will an opportunity to make blankets for children in the foster care system, card making, and other projects designed to help our neighbors. The projects will conclude by noon. We hope you will join us in this day of service!
Youth Group
6th graders and up are invited to join us from 11:30 – 1:30 on January 12th and 26th! This is a time the youth can come together and enjoy fellowship, fun and YUP Food! As we step into the new year, we will look at the New Ways Jesus calls to all of us. If you would like to sign up to bring something special for lunch, please follow the link,
