LTP has provided early childhood education to the community for over 40 years. Our preschool was established by First United Methodist Church as a nurturing ministry to families in our community. Our goal is to serve an interdenominational community. We strive to teach children to exhibit the loving, caring behaviors associated with Christ's teaching toward themselves, their classmates, and their community.
The mission at Learning Tree Preschool is to create an atmosphere in which children can develop curiosity, independence, self-confidence, social skills through teacher directed and self-initiated activities. This can be done through an age-appropriate curriculum and close family/child/teacher interaction.
Learning Tree Preschool Classes
At LTP our classes are grouped together by age to ensure age appropriate lessons and activities. This grouping allows teachers to tailor your child's learning experience to match their developmental stage, abilities, and interests of children in that specific age range.
Walking 1's to 4 years
9:00-11:30am
In this age range we focus on fostering socialization, language development, fine/ gross motor skills, and sensory exploration. Activities may include art projects, science experiments, group play, storytelling, as well as working on shapes, color, number, and letter recognition. At LTP we like to create a hands on learning experince that will engage every child at every level.
PreKindergarten
8:30-11:30am
In Prek our goal is to make sure every child is kindergarten ready, so you and your child can feel confident about the next adventure after preschool. Teachers will focus on early litearcy, numbers, social and emotional development. Our curriculm includes early reading, writing exercises, science exploration, and math concepts. We make sure to meet every child where they are at, and help them grow at their own pace.
Extended Care
7:30-9:00am & 11:30-5:30pm
Our extended care program is both in the morning before class time and the afternoon, when class is over. During extended care there is a balance of free play, gross motor time, story time and different centers. In the afternoon we have lunchtime (parents must provide). Shortly after lunch time we have gross motor play and then a nap/rest time. If you have further questions, please give us a call!
