NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
CLASSES
Includes overview of denomination and First United Methodist
Church.
ADULT FELLOWSHIP
A gathering of adults of all ages meeting for food, fun, and
fellowship.
COFFEE HOUR
A social gathering for all ages between worship hours in Fellowship
Hall.
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
An organization of church women committed to the support
of world, national, and local missions. General meeting
quarterly. Circles meet monthly. Task force provides
funeral dinners, emergency casseroles, wedding receptions, shut-in
visits, and hospitals visits.
PRAYER CHAIN
An organization of persons who have agreed to pray for particular
persons or situations when so requested.
PRAYER GROUP
Members gathering for prayer and support. Meets Thursdays
at 12:00 noon.
SEWING GROUP
United Methodist Women gathering to sew and prepare items primarily
for mission projects. Meets 4th Tuesday of each month at
10:00 a.m.
HOUSING PARTNERSHIPS
An ecumenical program which seeks to provide home ownership
to families who do not qualify for conventional housing.
Needs volunteers who can use a hammer or a paintbrush.
Meets the 3rd Saturday of each month.
STEPHEN MINISTRY
A nurturing ministry of volunteers trained to listen and counsel
members of our congregation in need of emotional support.
A Stephen Minister is a fellow believer who has been called by
God and has received special training to believer who has been
called by God and has received special training to be a personal,
confidential, Christian caregiver in your life.
VIP for VIPs
Visitation Program for Very Important People, a lay visitation
program for homebound persons.
CELEBRATION PRAISE TEAM
The Praise Team leads contemporary, informal worship on Sunday
mornings with occasional outside engagements. We practice
one evening a week. All instruments and singers are welcome.
BOY SCOUTS
Troop 550 meets regularly at our church and is sponsored by this
congregation. Several church members are involved in the Scouting
program. Meets 7:00 p.m. on Monday nights with leader Mike
Bealmear.
HOT MEALS
Free meals are prepared and served by church volunteers to persons
who, for different reasons, are in need of this kind of assistance.
Every Monday at 5:00 p.m.
SMORGASBORD
Annual two-day dinner prepared and served by the members and
friends of FUMC. This Church tradition raises monies for missions,
worldwide and local. by serving approximately 1600 meals in two days.
There are always spots for helpers Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with
childcare available. Everyone in the Church actively participate in some
capacity. It is a wonderful way to meet other members and fellowship.
