Niemoeller will be happy to add you to one of our teams! ![]() For Children and Youth Clothe-A-Child: Underprivileged school children, generally several dozen, are taken on a shopping trip in August to purchase new school clothing. Love-A-Child: This scholarship program makes a difference in young lives by allowing area preschool children to attend Learning Tree School, FUMC's preschool program. United Methodist Children's Home (Lebanon, Indiana): We support this licensed residential home for emotional disturbed youth with a White Gift Shower at Christmas time. Visit the IUMCH web site: click here. Work Camps: Youth and adults travel to the Appalachians and other states to help renovate and improve the homes of disadvantaged people. BLAST (Balancing Life After School Together): Five downtown churches sponsor this after school program for latchkey kids from Central Middle School. Missions, In Indiana, across the nation, and around the world Our church is in a covenant relationship to be a Global Missions Partner of the United Methodist Church. As we support those who share their special talents and Christian witness, we too, are in mission. United Methodist Committee on Relief: (UMCOR) Whatever the crisis war, flood, fire, earthquake, refugees, and famine UMCOR joins the Red Cross and others, worldwide, to respond. With clean water, food, supplies, health care, and economic programs, UMCOR is there to make a difference. Volunteers in Mission: (VIM) This district-wide program provides supplies and labor for struggling Methodist churches in southern Indiana. Operation Classroom: Hoosier United Methodist churches sponsor schools in Liberia and Sierra Leone, West Africa both now considered third-world countries. Special offerings of school supplies and money are used to improve facilities and provide classroom materials. Africa University: Located in Zimbabwe, Southeast Africa, it is one of two Methodist institutions of higher education on the continent. Students from over 15 countries and culturally diverse backgrounds attend. FUMC contributed significantly to the construction of one of several dormitories in 2001-2002. Redbird Mission: McCurdy Mission School: New Mexico. This school provides quality education with a Christian emphasis on grades K-12 to Navajo Indians and Spanish-speaking youths. The school not only ministers to these children, but also reaches out to impact the community. Project Crossroad: This American project aids disadvantaged areas of Virginia with housing needs. Rev. Harry Howe, a United Methodist Missionary, has been assigned as coordinator of this project. FUMC youth groups have gone on work camps to help with this program. In Mexico:
