Tulips - 2 year olds

Teachers - Gayle Kelley,

The Tulips class uses
creative art as a process for learning, through painting and
other sensory experiences. We focus on early literacy and have
story time every day. We work on pre-concepts of math and science,
and large motor skill refinement through music, dance and free
play. We work on social and emotional skills, helping these young
children to choose words to communicate their feelings. This
class has fun while learning and making friends. |

Dogwoods
- 3 year olds
|
Teachers: Cathy Hughes,
Tammy Glenn
In the Dogwoods class,
we start our day with free play time in all of our centers in
the room, allowing children to adjust to their new environment.
This time gives children an excellent opportunity to develop
language, social skills, motor control, and sensory awareness.
Art is offered daily as well as fine motor activities. We have
a snack, sing about the calendar and weather and learn about
the changing seasons. The children enjoy large muscle development
through organized games and free play. During circle time we
hear stories, finger plays, creative movement, math activities
and/or music. Our circle time is learning time, each discussion
is presented to expand the children's understanding of the weekly
theme, in a fun way! |
